The Webster Technique for Pregnancy.

At River Forest Health and Wellness, we specialize in prenatal chiropractic care using the Webster Technique—a safe and specific chiropractic adjustment that supports optimal pelvic alignment and function during pregnancy. Our office proudly serves Oak Park, River Forest, and Forest Park and collaborates with local midwives and OBs to ensure you receive comprehensive, coordinated care.

What Is the Webster Technique?

Webster Technique River Forest

The Webster Technique is a gentle chiropractic method that focuses on the alignment of the pelvis and sacrum, which can influence the position and movement of your baby in utero. This technique reduces tension in the round ligaments, sacrotuberous ligaments, and pelvic floor muscles, creating more space in the pelvis and helping the baby find the best possible position for birth.

While the Webster Technique does not turn babies, it creates a more balanced pelvic environment, which can support optimal fetal positioning—especially in cases where breech presentation is a concern.

Common Conditions the Webster Technique May Help With:

  • Low back pain

  • Pelvic pain or pressure

  • Sciatica

  • Sacroiliac joint dysfunction

  • Baby in breech or posterior position

  • Discomfort while walking, sleeping, or sitting

Why We Collaborate with Midwives and OBs

Your health during pregnancy should be team-based. That’s why our Webster Certified chiropractors maintain close relationships with local OB-GYNs, midwives, and birth professionals in Oak Park and River Forest. Whether you’re planning a hospital birth or a home birth, this collaboration ensures that care remains safe, supportive, and aligned with your birth plan.

Our goal is to make chiropractic care an integrated part of your pregnancy journey—not a separate path.

Safe, Evidence-Informed Care for Every Trimester

Many expectant mothers worry if chiropractic care is safe during pregnancy. The answer is yes—especially with techniques like Webster, which are designed specifically for prenatal care. Our chiropractors use special pregnancy pillows and tables that allow you to comfortably lie face down, even in later trimesters.

All adjustments are gentle, low-force, and modified for your stage of pregnancy.
